Research Vision

At its core, my research asks a simple but consequential question: how can data, compliance, and digital public infrastructure strengthen the institutions that govern society’s most valuable resources?

My Research Vision

The global transition toward cleaner energy, responsible sourcing, and digital governance is fundamentally reshaping the governance of natural resources. Around the world, governments are being asked to meet expanding expectations for traceability, ESG performance, environmental stewardship, due diligence, and regulatory transparency. These changes present an important opportunity – but also a fundamental question.

Can compliance become a driver of institutional capability, rather than merely an expanding administrative obligation?

My research is built around this question. Rather than treating compliance as an endpoint, I examine how it can become the foundation for stronger institutions, more intelligent governance, and lasting public value.

I believe the future of resource governance will depend not only on stronger regulations, but on governance systems capable of transforming data, compliance, and digital infrastructure into institutional capability, sovereign data assets, and sustainable public value. This requires moving beyond fragmented compliance tools toward integrated governance architectures that connect policy, digital public infrastructure, geospatial intelligence, traceability, and institutional design.

Through an interdisciplinary research agenda, I seek to develop original concepts, evidence, and practical frameworks that help governments and institutions navigate this transition. My aspiration is not only to explain how resource governance is changing, but to contribute ideas and systems that help shape its future.
